In April 2023 our mum was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, sadly just one month later she passed away.

When she was diagnosed she started looking at what she could do to support the research and wonderful work of the MND Association. She had started looking at taking part in trials and supporting with research projects. I also thought I would like to help and found the 26mile London Winter Walk. I had always told mum I wanted to run the marathon but I don’t really like running, this walk looked like a perfect alternative and something more manageable. Mum agreed it was a great idea so we talked my sister into joining me & my auntie also said she would sign up. Mum had laughed and said we could take her in her wheelchair and she would be our tour guide, she loved a trip to London with the grandchildren and always told them she was the best London tour guide ever!

Sadly mum is not here to see that we have now signed up for this but we want to do it for her and to raise money for a cause so dear to us.
