Adam's Project - The Date Kid
Adam, a 4 year old Londoner is raising funds for the most vulnerable kids around the world. Thousands of Children in Turkey, Syria died in the recent devastating earthquake. Thousands of children suffered during the floods in Bangladesh. Children in Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, South Sudan and many other countries are dying every day due to hunger & malnutrition. Wars in many countries are taking every child's dream away. Children are Angels.
Adam wants to save children by challenging his friends and family through the 'Date Challenge' .
The Challenge is simple. This Ramadan Adam will eat a Date during the break of fasting time (when the sun sets). He will then nominate someone else to have another date and donate to his campaign on Justgving page. His request will be recorded and posted on social media for the attention of his nominee. The person can donate and can nominate another person and request to donate on Adam's page. Adam would like to reach out to as many people as possible through this campaign.
Adam is raising funds for Ramadan Family Commitment!
Please note; Zakat donations are accepted and then it will only be distributed to those eligible to receive Zakat. Please do mention if you are contributing from Zakat!
1. Army of Angels (AA)
‘Army of Angels’ (AA) are a group of young children from diverse backgrounds who are committed to sharing their humanitarian ethos, love and happiness with children in need around the world. This Ramadan, our Army of Angels will be reaching out to our community and raise funds for destitute children suffering from poverty, malnutrition, disability, natural disasters and many other challenges.
2. Aim of AA
Due to the recent Turkey-Syria earthquake, Ukraine war and covid pandemic, the world is going through an economic crisis. The voices of children around the world are being left unheard as they continue to die every day. Orphans, children with disabilities and those in vulnerable environments are facing dire poverty. Innocent children are victims of trafficking for some of the worst crimes against humanity. Channel S Television aims to raise global awareness and funds for the Ramadan Family Commitment (RFC) through the Army of Angels. The funds will then be distributed equally among RFC charity partners.
3. Participants of AA
Anyone under the age of 18 can join the campaign, raise awareness and funds. Members of the Army of Angels will be referred to as ‘Angels’ as they raise funds through their designated JustGiving page.
4. RFC Zero Hunger
No child should be left hungry – this will encompass the theme for RFC 2023. Children are the first victims of any calamity – be it war or economic crisis. The number of children suffering from poverty and destitution is increasing every second. The RFC Zero Hunger campaign aims to highlight the striking factor of children suffering from hunger, malnutrition and poverty and raise urgent needed funds for partner charities.
5. The RFC – Ramadan Family Commitment
RFC is a Channel S TV initiative to raise funds for partner charities during the month of Ramadan. Channel S partner charities conduct 26 live TV fundraising appeals during the month of Ramadan for their own charitable national and international projects. The RFC raises funds collectively for those 26 appeals where donors can make a single donation and the donation will be equally distributed amongst the 26 appeals. For example, if anyone donates £26 to the RFC, each appeal will get £1. If you donate £260, then each appeal will receive £10.
This is a unique and special opportunity for charity partners, as the RFC donations help them to carry out their important humanitarian projects. RFC is governed by an independent board.
