The enigmatic London-based producer known as Flip X has gathered together some of the most talented underground artists from Europe, the Americas and Asia in a one-off exploration of mental fragility.

The 15 track album ranges from the trip-hop menace of Stay and the taunting dembow beat of Cannibal, to the alt-pop of Donna Diamond and Bowie-esque epic of The Ballad of Semper and Omnis, the diverse song styles are brought together by Flip X’s production, whose knife-twist sound ties together the album’s eclectic genres.

The reclusive producer is known for his work alongside legendary producer Martin Rushent (Human League, Buzzcocks, The Stranglers) with the Genetic record label and for his song writing and multi-instrumentalism among several respected bands. During his career, he has performed on television, at Glastonbury; Bestival; and Fusion in Germany, with press coverage in NME and The Guardian.

The artists on the album who have contributed their work to Flip X’s production are a palette of international talent. From Taiwan’s Jade Eyes to North Carolina’s Riot Son and back home to London talent like Su Goodacre, Captain OPE and Mama.

Living with bipolar disorder and working with community music education projects, Flip X is an advocate for the power of the music community to host, help and heal the richness and colour that often stands shoulder to shoulder with mental health struggles.
