Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Blue House Frome JustGiving page.
The Blue House, located in Frome, is an almshouse, which has been providing affordable accommodation for the elderly men and women of Frome since 1482. The current Grade 1 listed building was built between 1725 and 1728. The Blue House does not receive any direct public or government funding and the repair and maintenance of the building is funded almost entirely from the fundraising activities of its volunteer trustees and the modest affordable charges residents pay monthly.
As we approach the tricentennial anniversary, the trustees of the Blue House are raising much needed funds for essential refurbishment and repairs to the building including the windows, external stonework and roof of this much-loved building and much-needed almshouse.
The trustees need to raise £500,000 initially to carry out essential works, with further ongoing fundraising to futureproof the Blue House in the years to come.
