Story
This spring, I will be making history.
After two knee surgeries last year, I decided despite waves of objections from my wife (rightfully so), to run the Marathon des Sables in Jordan, which I successfully completed in November (120kms over 3 days in the desert) and followed by the Gent Marathon in Belgium earlier in March. Now I have decided to round it off by running the London Marathon in April.
There always needs to be a purpose to these endurance challenges and I have decided to support The Outward Bound Trust which is a wonderful charity supporting children through learning and adventures in the wild.
After that, I will be taking on something very different.......
I will be one of just a very small number of people who will make a rope descent of the world’s most famous skyscraper – a challenge that has never been attempted before and may never be attempted again.
This is the Big Rappel at The Empire State Building.
A proud collaboration between Outward Bound and Empire State Realty Trust.
The goal is simple: to raise transformational funds in support of the Outward Bound movement around the globe, reminding the world what can be achieved when determined people come together.
Outward Bound’s mission is to unlock potential in young people through learning and experience in the outdoors. In today’s world, this is more relevant than ever.
Well, all that is left is to say a big thank-you and wish me luck!
Thank you so much.
