Story

Referencing the head pain (as distinct from a ‘headache’) that I have experienced since a major non-fault road traffic accident on 16th February 2018, a "BOLT" is a term I use to describe the type and level of pain experienced daily. Carved from a single granite pebble, the comparison of an extremely hard material with the softness of the human brain is not accidental, nor is the grey colour representing “grey matter”. We all have positive & negative memories, thoughts & experiences throughout our lives that are stored within our brains, the Penny has as many as I do, dated 1965. The scratches on the base are a 1:1 scale of self-harm applied to my forearm as a result of my extreme head pain. Please ask me if you are interested in more insights as I love sharing “my thoughts and motivations”. Thank you for taking the time to view my work and understand the origin, emotions and significance to me and hopefully also a wider audience.

If you have enjoyed my work I would be extremely grateful if you would consider making a donation to the Headway charity, one of the charities that have helped both of us on our onwards 'journey' since the accident.

Please share my page with anyone you know that might relate to this. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
