Story
The Travel Trade Crusade, a challenging 1500-mile drive through 6 European countries, has welcomed The Pink Ribbon Electric Crusaders to their competition. The team of four, consisting of Gilly Bachelor Travel Expert, Holiday Admin Whizz Stephanie Minton, Phil Bachelor, and Brian Bachelor from E-Van Guru, are the first-ever team to attempt the challenge in an electric vehicle. Their aim is to raise over £2500 for Breast Cancer Now through sponsorship and fundraising efforts.
Led by Gilly Bachelor, the team is thrilled to be part of this electric adventure. They hope to promote sustainable travel and showcase the benefits of electric vehicles while supporting Stephanie, who lost both her sister and mother to breast cancer. The challenge will take the team through France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, promising an adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, exciting driving challenges, and hidden European treasures. Along the way, the team will compete in fun and silly challenges set by the organisers for a chance to win extra cash for their chosen charity.
Midlands Truck and Van have kindly supplied the team with a Mercedes eVito Tourer for the journey. A heartfelt thank you goes to Alex Hillman, Van Sales Director, for letting them borrow this fabulous piece of electric kit!
The Pink Ribbon Electric Crusaders’ chosen charity is Breast Cancer Now. The team hopes to raise money to increase breast screening uptake, grow the number of breast cancer clinical nurse specialists, and support people to get back to work after a breast cancer diagnosis. This cause is particularly close to Stephanie’s heart as the charity provided meaningful support to her sister Jennifer Dawson, who lost her battle with breast cancer last year at just 32 years of age, 12 years after losing her mother to the same disease.
Gilly Bachelor Travel Expert and E-Van Guru are covering all the costs associated with the challenge, including the entry fee, accommodation, charging, insurance, and food. 100% of the sponsorship money raised by the team will be donated to their dedicated charity.
The team is excited to embark on this journey and encourages others to follow their adventure and support their cause.
