Story
The Trentham Bowling Club in Purley on Thames, Reading, has a tradition of selecting a charity to support each year, and this year, the members have chosen the Sue Ryder charity. The Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice Trust holds a special place in the hearts of many at the Bowling Club.
The impact of cancer is something that resonates deeply with most people, either through their own experiences or those of their loved ones. The Duchess of Kent Hospice's unwavering care during the most challenging times is invaluable and cannot be overstated.
Member's at the Bowling Club are gearing up for a remarkable event - 1,000 minutes of continuous bowling - as a personal challenge to raise funds for the Duchess of Kent Hospice Trust. On 12th July 2024, a number of bowlers will each bowl for a continuous 1,000 minutes with an overall target of raising £1,000 for this great cause.
