After completing the Marathon Des Sables in 2005, The Three Unwise Men aka Hugh van Cutsem, Ian Robertson and Dom Robertson are reunited and are off to run across the Wadi Desert in Jordan over 4 days carrying all our supplies. Day one a marathon, then a double marathon and then on the final day we run to Petra. It has been a busy 18 years since we ran together, we are all older, not wiser, heavier and proud fathers of 9 children. We are now the Three (Older) Unwise Men.

This time we will be raising funds for The Dusty Yak.

The Dusty Yak Foundation, a charity set up in 2015 by Matt Hurley and Lou Hurley. Having visited Nepal after the earthquake, they both witnessed first hand the terrible and very disturbing challenges young girls were facing in existing orphanages. Matt and Lou felt compelled to get involved and The Dusty Yak was born, the mission is simple and powerful: “We give Children the Childhood they Deserve."

At the very core of the Dusty Yak’s mission is its continued fight against Child Labour, Child Sexual Abuse, and Child trafficking.

Dom's family were fortunate enough to visit The Dusty Yak this summer, it was truly humbling and inspiring seeing these amazing young ladies, so confident and happy despite everything they have gone through, a real testament to the work Dusty Yak does.

There is so much more to do and we very much hope that the mild discomfort we put ourselves through during our desert wanderings will help raise much needed funds to continue the incredible work that Dusty Yak is doing.
