Story
We are excited to announce that a dedicated team of DHU Healthcare colleagues will take on The DHU Sahara Stars Challenge in Morocco from September 10th to September 17th, 2024. This event is a great way for us to give back to the community and make a positive impact.
Our team for this inspiring journey includes Dr. Steve Lloyd (Non-Executive Director), Kirsty Osborn (Deputy Director Urgent Care North), Stephen Bateman (CEO), Viny Singh (IT Digital Project Manager), Debbie Kemp (Operations Manager UEC North), and Saurabh Johri (Clinical Director UEC).
We aim to push our DHU Charity Champions to their limits, raise crucial funds for Cancer Research UK, and build meaningful connections with the communities of Zagora Province in Morocco.
This is an ambitious project involving daily treks with camel support, food, water and bivouac accommodation. It will also see them provide Basic Life Support and First Aid training to around 40 primary and secondary school teachers.
The journey will also see them support the construction of a women's shelter at Ifrad School to create a vital meeting space for women to feel safe and protected. It is an incredible challenge and one that literally puts DHU on the map.
We would love for you to join us in supporting this noble cause as our team takes on the Sahara Champions Challenge. Your encouragement and contributions will help us make a significant impact on both the local community in Morocco and the vital work of Cancer Research UK.
Let’s support our amazing team as they embark on this incredible journey!
