Story
British Exploring Society is a world class youth development charity doing wonderful things for an increasing number of young, disadvantaged people, giving exceptional and life-changing learning experiences through a range of incredible and tough expeditions. Most young people return with increased self-belief, and the determination and ability to make the most of their future, regardless of where they started out.
To help their mission, and to celebrate 90 years of the British Exploring Society, in September a team of us are attempting to cross the wild and beautiful Knoydart Peninsula on the West coast of Scotland. We want to raise awareness and funds for this amazing organisation. Two other teams are attempting simultaneous challenges, one in the Lake District and one in London, as adventure can be found anywhere and by anyone!
The Knoydart peninsula is only accessible by boat or by walking in, making it one of the UK’s most remote places. The lack of mobile phone coverage only accentuates this. The three day adventure will see us cover over 30km from Kinlockhourn to Inverie, and 5,400 feet of ascent including Ladhar Bheinn, considered one of Scotland’s best mountains to climb due to its sheer size, isolation, beauty and views.
We hope to realise the power and personal impact of expeditions and how it can help open the potential for young people today. Please take a moment to look at the following to see why we believe so much in this charity.

Your donation will make a massive difference to the lives of young people AND motivate us to keep going when the going gets tough up those steep hills.
We are incredibly grateful for any support you can give us. Thank you.
