Story
This Christmas, The Berkeley Academy have again decided to support St. Luke’s Cheshire Hospice and take part in their ‘Elf Run’.
On Friday 13th December, all our children will become Elf recruits to get fit and ‘Elfie’ and take on the St. Luke’s Hospice Elf Run!
All children (Nursery – year 6) will take part in the run, that will take place during the school day. We would like all children to come to school in their Christmas Jumpers and comfortable joggers/trousers that are suitable for running. Children do not need to wear their school uniform on this day
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness.
We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
