Story
In March, after undergoing various tests and scans, Mum (Anne) was sadly given the diagnoses that she has Bowel Cancer - the news that no one or no family ever wants to hear. This follows her brother Rob (our uncle) who was also diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2022.
She now has a full schedule of treatment and a long journey ahead, with intensive Chemotherapy first (which started in May), followed by radiotherapy and then surgery. With the ultimate goal to cure and kill the cancer!
Whilst there’s very little we can do besides be there to support, we (her 4 fabulous kids - Laura, Emma, Phil & Chris) have decided to take on the Cardiff Half Marathon on 6th October to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer and help fundraise for Bowel Cancer UK.
Any donations would be really appreciated and a motivator for us 4 running but more importantly, for Mum, to show the love and support behind her to beat this on her much tougher journey ahead!
We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity.
We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
We’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
