Story
Our school is taking part in the Rudolph Run in support of Isabel Hospice, to help them continue to deliver their vital palliative care services to anyone in eastern Hertfordshire who needs them.
This charity means a lot to our school as it is currently supporting one of our lovely teachers who has been in and out of hospital all year following a cancer diagnosis last November. He and his family have had a rollercoaster of a year and The Isobel Hospice have provided much needed counselling for Mr McLaughlin which I am sure has been a lifeline.
Their palliative care and support services are done through their Hospice at Home Team, In-Patient Unit, Community Team, Living Well with Isabel programme, and their Family and Bereavement support service.
To be able to continue to provide their services free of charge to those who need them, they need to raise £7 million every year. The NHS fund 30% of this, the rest relies on the community, government grants, and their retail stores.
