Help Devizes Opendoors and join us on the Lions Sponsored Walk
9.30am Sunday 12 May 2024 (Registration from 9am)
Join us for a sponsored walk to support the work of Devizes Opendoors helping local homeless and vulnerable people. We’re there to ensure that they have a hot meal, clean clothes and bedding, help to tackle problems.
An 8 mile circular route to the south of Devizes, from the Guide Hall on Coate Road. The route takes in the views and peaceful countryside, mainly flat and easy terrain but with a few small hills on the way. The walk, organised by the Lions gives the opportunity to all the local groups and charities to raising funds for their particular good causes.
The route starts at the Guide Hall, then follows footpaths and bridle ways to Nursteed Village, then to Sleight, continuing to Stert village and returning to the Guide Hall via the Wessex Ridgeway. The walk is suitable for all ages and abilities. There will be marshals and safety vehicles at
strategic points along the route should anyone require assistance. There will be a drink
station on route, and at the Guide Hall at the end of the walk.
There is a shorter walk for young children.
