Story
I am running London Marathon 2025 to raise fund for GBDeaf athletes to compete in the Summer Deaflympics 2025 at Tokyo, Japan. I started running in 2017 with a local parkrun at age 52 and ran my first marathon in London in 2018. I had enjoyed my journey progressing from parkrun 3 miles to completing the full 26.2 miles, with training and support from friends and families. I enjoyed running the marathon so much the I have completed 20 marathons and ultramarathons in the past 6 years so far. I was lucky enough to represent GB to complete in the European Deaf Sports Organisation 2nd Open Marathon Championships held in Essen Germany even though I was severely injuries during the race and was determined to finish it and limped across the finish line! I was probably the oldest runner in the EDSO’s history ha ha! I know I am too old and slow to qualify for the Deaflympics standards (ha ha) so I wish to give the younger athletes a chance to attain their dream of lifting gold medals in the 2025 Deaflympics so they can focus on their training and not spend too much time fundraising for their participation. So please dig deep and sponsor me to run my 21st marathon at age 59!
