I DID IT! I DID IT!! I DID IT!!!! ….. and i didn't scream once, swear or freeze at the top. So proud to have raised a significant sum of money for this very worthwhile charity below if you haven’t already read my page). It was not all selfless though as it really was a fantastic experience and so well run. As most of you know, I work for the wonderful Adult Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team which has enabled me to witness the impact that mental health can have on people and their families and friends. We all appreciate that this is an area that is chronically underfunded.

Brighterway is the charity for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It aims to support the recovery of mental health through the use of fundraising and grant making for projects, helping with their overall quality of life, wellbeing and independence. These are for projects that the NHS are unable to fund.

We probably all know somebody who has had difficulties with their mental health, if not ourselves. We live in a world with increased pressures, very unpleasant things happening in the world around us and have inherited the legacy of those not helped in their younger days with issues that may cause mental health problems later in life and are now suffering. However this is time to focus on the positives and the things we can do to help these people, of all ages, in their recovery and help make a brighter future for them.
