Story
The Hospice of St Francis helps over 2000 people a year to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms - at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £5m we need each year to fund our free care.
The Hospice is an amazing place. Having spent the last year on placement as a trainee counsellor I have learned so much not just about being a counsellor, but also about the incredible support people receive there, families and friends as well as the patients. I have been grateful and proud to be a part of it.
Like many others around the country, the Hospice relies on the work of volunteers and fundraisers to provide care and support to people with life limiting illnesses. From personal experience we know how important the kindness and compassion offered by that care is, and so we both want to support our local Hospice by raising money.
The cost of the doing the ridgeway walk will be covered by us ourselves, so every penny you donate is going towards helping run services for patients, carers, family and friends.
