Story
Instead of giving Christmas Cards each year, the friendly folk of the Teignbridge Trotters give to charity instead.
This year we are supporting SisterWood, a forest school for girls, based in the Teign Valley. They work with young people who are experiencing anxiety, stress, or depression. Often they are unable to carry out day to day activities, including attending school, and have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms such as self-harm, self-neglect and eating disorders.
SisterWood teach them healthy ways to support themselves, such as breathwork, meditation, journaling, listening to music and getting outside. I want to make a difference and see the young people's sense of achievement and confidence grow as they become competent splitting wood, whittling, building fires and cooking food together.
They need OUR help to make this accessible to young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds who wouldn't typically be able to afford to attend this kind of intervention. So please give as much as you can.
The club are delighted to match the money raised, so that we can make a real difference to this fledgling local charity.
