Story
Now in it's 3rd year, Teddy's Trundle will take place this year on Saturday 23rd March when a group of amazing friends and family will be walking an awesome 21km from Peel to Douglas!
In 2023, we were blown away by the generosity of our family, friends and work colleagues and we raised a phenomenal £4921 - so we have set our sights the ambitious target of £5000!
*Our Devonian family and friends will also be holding a Teddy's Trundle around the same date - details coming soon*
As with previous years, we will be walking 21km for Trisomy 21 (more commonly known as Down Syndrome.) We will be raising money to help raise awareness of what T21 is and more importantly, what it isn’t. As well as this we will be donating to help better prepare and educate those working in settings that meet first time parents and family of children with Down Syndrome.
For those who know our journey, they will know Oli and I didn't have the most positive experience when we found out about Teddy’s diagnosis when he was 8 weeks old and we would like to do everything we can to ensure other's have a different experience!
Teddy is now 2 and half and as we continue to navigate our way through, we have found the resources at Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS) to be a truly fantastic help!
So join us, join in or just wear some odd socks - the official World Down Syndrome Day is on 21st March.
P.S. Why odd socks? The idea was created because chromosomes are shaped “like socks” and people with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome.
