Story
On 2nd December 2022, the Woodbridge High School community lost one of its own in the most tragic of circumstances. Moyra Whelan was a passionate teacher and Head of History who loved her work and cared about every student who passed through her classroom. She was tragically killed in a car accident travelling to a wedding, and her loss is one that has been deeply felt by Woodbridge staff, students and parents alike.
On September 15th 2024, Team Woodbridge will be undertaking the London to Brighton cycle in memory of our beloved colleague, teacher and friend. We are raising money for Air Ambulance UK, the charity responsible for supporting all of the 21 air ambulances in the United Kingdom, including Great Western Air Ambulance, who were dispatched to the scene of the accident where Moyra sadly lost her life. Our aim is to raise £10,000, all of which will be going towards the crucial lifesaving work carried out by the Great Western Air Ambulance.
On average an air ambulance can reach someone in urgent need within 15 minutes. Anyone, anywhere in the UK can become a patient at any time, and your funds will help.
