Story
On September 9, Akaash Patel, Alfie Whittaker, Lucy Beaumont, Nicky Ludick, Philipp Hohmann and Emmy Hackett are representing SHL by climbing the three tallest mountains in the three countries comprising the main island of Great Britain – Snowdon, in Wales (1,085m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m), and Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1,345m). While the total walking distance is just 23 miles (37km), the total ascent is 3,064 metres (10,052ft), and if you were to drive it, the route would be 462 miles and take 10 hours.
Embracing the spirit of giving back to our community, we have chosen to raise money for AgeUK by continue providing vital services that offer companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life challenges including navigating support alone.
The six members of Team SHL each work in different parts of our business and have personal reasons to participate in the Three Peaks Challenge, and recognise that Age UK is important to all of us.
We ask you to support us in our endeavor to complete this rigorous climb for the benefit of older members of our families and our communities.
Age UK is there for every older person who needs support, whatever their situation. The need has never been greater and it can't be done alone. Vital support from each of us make what they do possible. Your support helps change lives.
