Story
Rory's uncle & aunt very thoughtfully 😳 gifted us (Rory's parents) entry to the 2024 Lakesman Half Triathlon in June. It's made slightly less terrifying by the fact that it's a relay entry, but it’s still feeling pretty bonkers.
It's a 1.9km (1.2 mile) swim (Jim), 90km (56 mile) bike (Matt) and a half marathon run (Amy).
But OF COURSE, because it's all in the name of Team Rory, we intend to do our boy proud. We'll endure any amount of intense cramping if it's for Rory Hall. If you don't know about our son Rory, take a look here.
We're doing this as part of our ongoing effort to improve the outlook for children with cancer and ensure that they have the future that Rory wasn't able to.
CCLG work tirelessly to research childhood cancers and ensure that the kindest, most relevant treatment & care for these children and their families is always a priority. It wasn’t Rory’s cancer that killed him, it was his treatment, so this is really important to us. With your donations, we will be able to directly fund pioneering research projects into Rory's type of brain tumour.
Times seem constantly hard at the moment and we totally understand that giving isn't easy, but anything you can give will be hugely appreciated. And come and cheer us on if you're local! Or hit us up for some training company.
