Shakespeare Martineau & Lime Solicitors - Team Molly

We are here at every step to support you with and beyond cancer.

Story

In January 2023, our colleague Molly Midgley-Hellend, was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare and often incurable form of cancer affecting 200,000 people globally. Due to the rarity of this cancer, there is a real lack of funding and consequently, limited research. Long term outcomes for people living with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma tend to be poor.

Sadly, Molly died last February, just one year after her initial diagnosis. Whilst undergoing harsh treatment she had the bravery and strength to use her story to raise awareness and over £53,000 for a small charity.

Molly was looked after by an amazing team at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. As such, we are doing what we can to help raise vital funds to support them. Team Molly has raised over £46,000 so far and all donations on this page (which is linked to Team Molly's page) are directed to Molly's oncologist, who can use the money to help push for better treatments and increase the chances for ACC patients.

Last year SHMA & Lime helped Team Molly's effort by walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, running countless races and hosting and attending a variety of events.

In addition to the main Team Molly events, our plans for 2025/26 include:

- Hosting a Charity Quiz at MoJo (Sheffield) in May

- Hosting a Charity Golf Day at Hallowes (Dronfield) in June

- Hosting a Charity Bake Sale (Cubo, Sheffield) in June

- Skydive (yes... Anna is jumping out of a plane) in June

- Participating in an Inflatable Obstacle Race in July

- Running in the Sheffield 10k in September

- Running in the York Marathon in October (TBC)

- Running in the Barcelona Marathon in March 2026 (TBC)

- Walking the National 3 Peaks in June 2026

and so on...

Please help us honour our colleague, Molly, by donating to raise funds to help improve outcomes for those living with ACC.
