Story
Aged 26 Molly Midgley-Hellend was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare and often incurable form of cancer affecting 200,000 people globally. Due to the rarity of this cancer, there’s a lack of funding meaning there’s also limited research. Therefore, long term outcomes for people living with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma tend to be poor.
In February 2024, a year after her initial diagnosis, Molly died at home surrounded by her family. We promised to continue her legacy, which she created whilst undergoing harsh treatment. We raised over £60,000 for Salivary Gland Cancer UK, another charity close to our hearts, before Molly decided she wanted to raise money for Weston Park Cancer Charity!
Team Molly, made up of Molly’s family and friends, are determined to continue to raise awareness and raise as much money as possible in her legacy.
Molly was looked after by an amazing team at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield and all the money on this page will be going directly to Molly’s oncologist, who can use the money to help push for better treatments and increase the chances for ACC patients.
If you would like to join the other 160 members of Team Molly and be part of an amazing cause, please let me know. We are an inclusive group and would love to hear new ideas for fundraising efforts.
We are also hugely grateful for any donations so please give what you can to help support our efforts and help support outcomes for people living with ACC.
Thank you so much 🪩🫶🏻🌈
