Thank you so much for visiting our page!
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve both secured a place in the legendary Marathon des Sables 2025!
Next April, we’ll be heading to the scorching Sahara Desert to take on this grueling ultra-marathon, all while raising crucial funds and awareness for Walkoncemore, a charity dedicated to curing chronic spinal cord injuries (SCI). This will be the most challenging event we've ever faced, but we’re excited for the journey ahead and hope you’ll support us as we prepare!
The Marathon Des Sables is a six-day, 250 km (155 mile) ultra-marathon—equivalent to six regular marathons! We'll be crossing varied terrains, from sand dunes and salt flats to mountains and rocks. To up the ante, we'll carry all our supplies on our backs, including food, cooking gear, sleeping bags, clothes, and essential survival items. It's often called the toughest footrace on Earth, and we couldn't agree more!
Over the next eight months, we’ll be tackling a series of intense training challenges to build our stamina and mental resilience. From mountain climbs to coastal treks, half, and full marathons, we’ll push our bodies to the limit to prepare for the extreme conditions we’ll face, with temperatures reaching 50°C!
So, why are we taking on this challenge for Walkoncemore? In 2019, Jayden sustained a severe back injury during a snowboarding holiday and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Thankfully, Jayden made a full recovery, but the injury ended his dream of joining the forces. Unfortunately, any of us can experience such a life-changing injury at any time, which is why Walkoncemore's work is vital. The funds we raise will support their relentless research efforts, helping those with chronic spinal cord injuries regain mobility.
With that in mind, we kindly ask for your support. Every donation, big or small, will help propel us through this tough course. Our goal is to raise a minimum of £10,000 but with your generosity, we hope to surpass that!
We truly appreciate your support.
Thanks a million, everyone!
