Story
Kath is running the 10k for Team Domenica. They have been a game changer for her nephew, Callum. When Callum left school, it was unclear whether he would ever make it into paid employment but thanks to the support at Team Domenica he has not only held down a part-time job for almost three years, he has also made significant steps to building his own chocolate business (gleni.co.uk). His family know that this wouldn’t have happened if Callum hadn’t been given a place at Team Domenica, so know that every penny you donate will give youngsters like Callum real hope for the future.
People with learning disabilities are too often unemployed and marginalised in society, with just 5.1% finding paid work in England.
Team Domenica is here to change that. We're here to give young people with learning disabilities a future.
Through a range of training, education and support, we help them build the skills and confidence they need to find work. We then work with businesses in our community to remove barriers to employment.
It works: our Supported Internship Programme has achieved an incredible 81% paid employment rate.
