Story

This September, 8 members of the Cornwall Mind team are challenging themselves to dip in 6BaysInOneDay! But they need your help.

For 1 in 4 of us, every day is a fight — this is something we cannot ignore.

Please support #TeamCornwallMind as they raise awareness and funds by challenging themselves to dip in 6BaysInOneDay.

Your donation will directly help to give much-needed support and respect to those in our local communities who are experiencing mental health problems.

Our team members are passionate about mental health and proud to be raising money for people in Cornwall.

This is what it means to each of them:

Caroline - “Thinking about how Mind has helped me when I lost my job, confidence and way forward… I was honest about what had happened. They listened, gave me space to talk and think. Kindness can never be underrated. Mind 'rescued me’.”

Claire - “The benefits of getting back to nature, and especially swimming in the sea, is well documented so I’m keen to give it a try and help raise awareness of mental health. I’m really passionate about helping people get the support they need and I love how Cornwall Mind does this in the community.”

Kathleen - “Being outside and feeling connected to nature can do wonders for our mental health and wellbeing. Having seen first hand the impact the third sector has supporting individuals with their mental health, I am going to show my support by braving the cold and taking the plunge.”

Laurence - “I’m really excited to be a part of this event. Spending time in nature with others is my happy place. And what better opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Cornish coastline with fellow Cornwall Mind staff.

Lin - “I am so looking forward to our 6 Bay Challenge and doing this with my Cornwall Mind co workers will be a wonderful experience as without exception, everyone I have met in Cornwall Mind are just the loveliest people. Swimming does so much for me personally, both for my physical and mental health. I can’t wait! And the money raised will help us to support more people”.

Lorna - “Working in mental health has been eye opening to all that require support, learning how important it is to look after each other and offer support to those who need it most. By taking part in this team challenge gives us at Cornwall Mind the opportunity to not only try to raise awareness and hopefully some pennies, but it will also give us the opportunity to look after our own mental health and bond as a team.”

Lucy - “Dipping 6 times, in 6 different bays, in one day - what a fabulous challenge! What a gift to take part in this wellbeing fundraiser with some of my incredible colleagues, taking the time for ourselves and to be with each other, whilst raising awareness and funds. Please support us so that we can continue to support those in our communities struggling with poor mental health.”

Sally - “Being a part of the small but mighty Cornwall Mind team means the world to me - it’s such a positive place to work. Being able to bring this positivity to the community and help to support people and change lives for the better is a real privilege and, with your help, we can spread our net even further!”

Help us be there for those that need us. Your support will make a huge difference for people in Cornwall living with a mental health problem and for that, we cannot thank you enough.
