Story
This May, I'm running 100 miles to raise money for GOSH Charity.
Every day, more than 750 seriously ill children and young people from across the UK arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses and conditions and come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential.
Your donation will help go towards:
- Pioneering research into kinder treatments and cures for rare childhood conditions.
- New child-focused environments that help children feel safe and calm during their appointments, treatments and recovery.
- State-of-the-art medical technology to deliver world-class care to seriously ill children every day.
- Child and family support services such as family accommodation near the hospital, keeping parents close when their child needs them most.
For example, £100 could fund two hours of research into a new gene editing therapy to treat Wiskott-Aldrich, a rare genetic disorder that keeps a child's immune system from working properly.
