Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page that we’ve set-up in honour of a much-loved colleague and friend, Robert Shaw, who sadly passed away from throat cancer earlier this year.
To celebrate Robert’s life and all that he meant to us, his colleagues from NHS South East London, Aysha Awan, Russell Cartwright, Patrick Gray, Colette Meehan, Chris Dance and David James are running the Big Half Marathon on 1st September 2024, to help fundraise for Oracle Head & Neck Cancer UK.
Robert was a committed and dedicated ambassador for Oracle and was on a journey to raise as much awareness of head and neck cancer and we want to continue that journey in his honour.
We understand that times are tough for many people right now, but any contribution you can make towards our fundraising efforts would be greatly appreciated. Your donation will help us honour Robert's legacy and ensure that others have a better chance of surviving Head and Neck cancers.
Oracle is the leading Head and Neck cancer charity in the UK, and their vision is to ensure everyone has the best chance of surviving Head and Neck cancers across the UK. They do this by enabling greater awareness, knowledge and understanding of Head and Neck cancers.
Update:
A number of us will be taking on a slightly different challenge in memory of Robert due to training injuries. Patrick Gray will now be swimming the 13.1 miles and Aysha Awan will walk the equivalent of a half marathon in honour of Robert. We’ll still be posting updates of these challenges, so stay tuned!
We do hope you will still sponsor our attempt to raise money for the amazing Oracle Head & Neck Cancer UK.
