From a hospital bed to a fighter jet instead!
Going through pancreatic cancer is not easy, some days it feels like hell and some days you have your good days, in the words of the lyrics of the song by Chumbawumba "I get knocked down, but I get up again and nothing is going to keep me down" I find really perks me up when I listen to the song. Over the last few weeks I was going through hell, firstly I developed an ecoli infection and ended up in my cancer clinic hospital. Lots of IV antibiotics plus a blood transfusion to improve my haemoglobin levels. At the same time have my ascites fluids drained thanks to the effects of the cancer. A CT scan followed by an MRI scan discovered a blockage in my common bile duct leading from my liver and ended up with a 2 hour invasive treatment under general aesthetic to implant a stent to release the blockage, with more IV antibiotics to follow. But it will still not stop me having some fun and therefore I'm flying a BAE Strikemaster fighter jet on the 11th June from an airfield in Essex. Its all been paid for but I would like to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK charity for funding research in this horrendous disease with currently no cure. So if you think that I'm completely bonkers doing this in my state, please donate to my just Giving page and let's all fight pancreatic cancer together. After all, when you get knocked down, you need to get up again!
