Story
We are raising money for don’t look down - a charity set up in the name of Fred Bennett - a boy who died aged just 14 from child hood leukemia.
A dare devil who loved an adventure and loved to ride his bike. And wasn’t scared to take on anything.
5 of us ,Jackie, Harriet , Kevin, Richard and Raza are planning to take on a challenge in France. We will be riding a stage of the Tour de France on Saturday 29th June 2024.
It’s stage 10 of the 2017 tour and it’s from Perigeux to Bergerac- a total of 178km over undulating roads and beautiful country side of southern France. Taking in towns, villages and lots of sights and sounds.
178km is a distance that we have trained hard for and further than most of us have ever cycled before. So we expect it to be hard and very rewarding for us personally.
This year ,2024 would have been Fred’s 18th birthday -so our challenge is part of 18 for 18, 18 different challenges to help raise money and awareness for this amazing charity and for Fred to acknowledge his 18th.
Fred lived life like no one was watching - that’s how we will ride our bikes - like no one is watching - a phrase we have on our shirts.
Please help us raise as much as possible for this fantastic cause.
All the help and support we get really helps us focus on our goal and encourages us to complete this challenge.
All your support and donations inspire us to go to France and face this challenge head on and do it all for Fred and don’t look down.
