We support grieving children & young people to help them achieve their full potential.

Story

Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.

Five members of the incredible team at The Culverhay Surgery in Wotton Under Edge are flying by the seat of their pants and jumping out of a plane to raise money for the charity Winston’s Wish.

On Sunday 10th March 2024 GP Dr Nicky Davis, HCA Jess Fisher, pharmacy technician Tracy Burton, pharmacy dispenser Carly Gabb and care coordinator Sophie Butcher will be taking part in a tandem skydive to raise money for this wonderful charity.

Winston’s wish is a charity that helps children, teenagers and young adults find their feet when their worlds are turned upside down by grief. It is a charity close to our hearts at Culverhay and you can read more about how they help below.

We would love your support to raise as much money as possible - every little helps. Please share the page far and wide, we’re determined to smash our fundraising target!

Through information, on demand services, bereavement support and counselling, Winston’s Wish support young people across the UK to understand their feelings, process their grief and find ways to move forward with hope for a brighter future. They also help the adults who are caring for young grieving people including parents, school staff and healthcare professionals.

£8 could provide a set of crafts and activities, including all of the materials needed to make a memory jar which serve as a reminder of special memories shared with their loved one.

£12 could enable us to provide one child with a memory box that can be used to store treasured objects, helping them to remember their loved one in a way that is personal to them.

£26 Could cover the cost of an online information session led by a Winston's Wish bereavement support worker.

Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.
