It’s time for another challenge , last year was the 3 peaks challenge this year The Welsh 3000s to celebrate 3000 kidney transplants and 50 Years of Transplant Success with the University Hospital of Leicester's Golden Milestone Promoting organ donation and transplantation in Leicester and Leicestershire linking with its 50 Years success.

We have set up this just giving page to do our bit for giving back ,this unit and team carried out my transplant in July 2023 we are now aiming to raise £1, 500 to assist with their own fundraising from local organisations, businesses, and individuals.

March 2025 is a special time—it marks 50 years since the first kidney transplant was performed at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This milestone is a true demonstration of the incredible dedication of the healthcare professionals who have spent decades improving the lives of people with kidney failure.

The Sir Professor Bell Kidney Unit has been at the heart of this work, performing over 3,000 transplants for patients in Leicester and the surrounding areas.
