Team Bernard Newnham/BeNiceToPeople: UK Sepsis Trust

A year of fundraising...
This is Bernard Newnham. Our desire to spread his life motto - "be nice to people" has take on a bit of a life of its own. See www.TeamBeNiceToPeople.org for more details. And, thank you so much for your donations.
We would love you to donate to The UK Sepsis Trust. No amount is too small as every penny helps. You may have landed here because you were Bernie's family or friend. Or you may know an amazing team member who is doing something challenging to encourage your donation - we are so grateful to them, and to you, for joining in.
Bernard Newnham was a husband to Pauline, a father to Charley, Ben and Robin, a brother to Stephen, Michael and Caroline, and a friend or colleague or teacher to many others. Outside of family life, he was a BBC television producer, a beekeeper, a light aircraft pilot, a lecturer, and founder of Tech-Ops.co.uk. He was the builder of a cobra car ("just for fun"), organiser of (BBC) Disorganised Lunches, and enjoyed his U3A endeavours.
The photo above was taken almost exactly a year before he died aged 76, in August 2023, and sepsis was a part of his end-of-life story...
Fundraising is at the heart of the UK Sepsis Trust's fight against sepsis.
It raises awareness, seeks to get healthcarers asking, "Is this sepsis?" at an early enough point in time to make a difference, and to prevent thousands of deaths and unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
They also help people adjust to life after sepsis - and in fact were the first charity to reach out to us to offer help after dad died (thank you, Grace).
They also lobby government to makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.
