Epilepsy Society (A Team Be Nice to People effort!)

Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge 2024 · 22 June 2024 ·
Team: Cathy Allen, Charley Newnham, Melissa Cashmore
Our "Be Nice to People" charity fundraising drive started when one of our dads, Bernard Newnham, died last year. Our desire to spread his life motto - "be nice to people" - has take on a bit of a life of its own and you can see www.TeamBeNiceToPeople.org for more details and to learn about him.
But this particular charity is particularly important to the team because the co-leader for this event, Cathy, lost her brother, Andrew Hartley, to epilepsy. So this one is for Andrew.
We would love you to sponsor us for this event, if you can, in Andrew and Bernie's memory, but also for all people LIVING with epilepsy. Lives can be changed so dramatically through great research and practical support. No donation is too small. Every penny helps.
Over 600,000 people in the UK have epilepsy. That’s about one in every 100 people. There are around 50 million people with epilepsy in the world and 79 people in the UK get diagnosed with epilepsy every day. It can start at any age, and can be difficult to diagnose.
The Epilepsy Society is the UK's only charity transforming the lives of people with epilepsy through world-leading research, advocacy and care.
Their research is driven by the desire to understand what has caused the epilepsy in each individual person, to be able to identify the best therapy from the outset, and to make this expertise widely available.
Please help us raise some much needed cash for this cause. We'd be so grateful.
