The iconic Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge

Six cyclists from the the West Midlands are currently training for a sponsored Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle ride which will take place on Saturday 20th July 2024.

They will challenge themselves in aid of supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The money raised will go directly to supporting children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

The event will be self-organised, funding all their own transport and accommodation costs and a dedicated support team.

The team's cycling kit has been sponsored by Amari Plastics Birmingham part of Vink UK Limited.

All money raised will go directly to the charity.

The Charity

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a leading, specialist paediatric centre, delivering some of the most advanced treatments, complex surgical procedures, and cutting-edge research to over 90,000 children and young people from across the UK and beyond.

Every patient and family benefits from money raised, but the impact of a donation is much more than purely financial. It makes a real difference to the spaces, treatment, and equipment they provide to children and their families.

The Challenge - IN ONE DAY!

The iconic coast-to-coast route travels 150 miles and over 10,000 feet of elevation between the Irish Sea and the North Sea, from Cumbria to Tyneside, passing through the northern Lake District before climbing the Pennines and descending to the railway paths of County Durham.

On Saturday 20th July we will be leaving Whitehaven and finishing the same day in Sunderland.

It’s an unforgettable ride that will test even the fittest of riders. Make no mistake, the hills are steep and relentless. But the scenery, the bike-friendly cafés, and the camaraderie combine to make it all a worthwhile challenge in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
