Story
Founded in memory of Russ Devereux, the Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Teesside area, which has one of the highest regional rates in the country. We aim to achieve this by providing therapeutic support to families who have suffered a traumatic bereavement, as they are higher risk to die by suicide themselves. We deliver workshops in schools to talk around the subject and suicide awareness and prevention training to local organisations and workplaces.
'A guiding light when the road ahead is dark...'
We are supporting The Headlight Project on their up-coming campaign for "Turn Blue Monday Bright". Monday 16th January is known for being "Blue Monday" most are absent from work/school, generally a day in which the christmas festivities are a fading memory. We want to turn it from blue to bright, We hope that the campaign will give people a reason to come to work. Sembcorp staff will be encouraged to wear the colour orange on Monday 16th January. We will be hosting a bake sale and raffle and all proceeds will be given directly to the charity. All money which is made will also kindly be matchfunded!
