We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Hi! I'm raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, as they are a charity very dear to my heart. Those close to me know that I am actually waiting for a hearing dog of my own.

I'm incredibly proud to be deaf and I love what the deaf community and BSL gives me. However, I do get anxious when I'm on my own and I also worry that I might miss a life-saving alarm or even just my morning alarm to get up for work. I'm not the only one and that's where Hearing Dogs for Deaf People comes in.

They're training dogs to alert deaf people to everyday sounds like smoke alarms, doorbells, intruder alarms and even just the morning alarm clock to get them up in time to get to work/school etc! They then match them with deaf people to form the perfect partnerships to reduce those feelings of anxiety. These wonderful dogs are also very special companions and can really help when a deaf person is feeling anxious or isolated.

I've met a few of these amazing dogs now and I can't wait for my own little pal 🐾

I'll be sure to share my journey here and over on my Instagram! Thank you for reading and please consider a donation, big or small!
