Taryn Monks is raising money for Yeovil Heartbeat

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We support cardiac rehabilitation in the Yeovil area to improve the quality of lives of patients after a cardiac diagnosis. We provide facilities and individualised exercise programmes and education whilst being monitored by specialist cardiac nurses, physiotherapists and exercise instructors.

Story

I've run the 2025 London Marathon in reverse!

(reversing the route, not running backwards!)

I did it!

(but please keep donating ...)

Oh My goodness! Where to start! What a weekend and my reverse London marathon 2025 at 00:01 Sunday 27th April, form THE LONDON marathons finish line at Birdcage Walk( the Mall closed off) to the start on Blackheath, Greenwich. It was as someone described, rebellious, awesome, in it together (around 450/600) on the pavements, but following the blue line and barriers! Not the support you see during the real thing or marshals or waterstops other than a couple the organisers arrange themselves, for us, that were well stocked. Just you against the distance, in the dark 26.2m DONE. Cutty sark a welcome sight but eerie in the very early morning light. A climb at 23m we could all well have done without but…..! and at Blackheath a thick fog had descended but as you may have seen from pictures it was a very beautiful day and very warm for the runners still to make their marathon journeys. The bonus was that our hotel was on the marathon route and our room was a front row seat! I did go and down along side the many other supporters looking for friends and club members out there – I saw 1! But all finished healthily like myself. I have a few niggles, but they won’t keep me down!!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm excited that this year I will be running the 2025 London Marathon differently – by reversing the route! I am participating in the Reverse London Marathon, starting at 0:01am(!) on April 27th before the main event. I’m raising money for Yeovil Heartbeat, an incredible charity that plays a vital role in cardiac rehabilitation for patients in the Yeovil area.

As an Exercise Instructor for Yeovil Heartbeat, I witness firsthand the impact this organization has on improving the quality of life for individuals recovering from cardiac events or diagnoses. Yeovil Heartbeat provides facilities, equipment and individualised progressive programmes of exercise and education whilst being monitored by specialist cardiac nurses, physiotherapists and exercise instructors (like me!). In addition to physical rehabilitation, Yeovil Heartbeat provides professional counselling services for those who need emotional support during their recovery journey.

Every donation made will go directly to this remarkable charity, which has already helped hundreds of patients rebuild their lives and regain their confidence.

I am aiming to raise £1,000 for Yeovil Heartbeat. Your generous contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on this invaluable service.

Thank you !!!!!
