Story
My name is Tara, and I have three children, one of whom lives with type 1 diabetes.
Tahlia was diagnosed on Christmas Day 2017 and was so unwell she was taken to the Evelina Children's Hospital.
Whilst managing diabetes was challenging, we were doing ok until we introduced a new medical device, and we initially really struggled to adjust, which was extremely stressful.
I somehow got introduced to JDRF, and I met Edelle during a call, and for about 20 minutes. I just cried.
Her kindness and understanding were exactly what I needed and what I received, and I will never forget this.
From then on, I started to learn more about the charity, the resources it provides, the research it is involved in, and its advocacy and events.
JDRF's mission is to discover better treatments, expand access, and work towards a future free from type 1 diabetes.
They truly are a fantastic team, and as a charity, you will know EVERY penny counts.
