Story
My lovely godmother, Hannah, is always full of joy and refuses to allow Multiple Sclerosis to pull her mood down. So my sister and I decided to raise money for a brilliant charity called The MS Therapy Centre in Berkshire by running the Oxford Half Marathon on October 15th. This charity is full of wonderful volunteers who spend their precious time providing physiotherapy, counselling and oxygen tank treatment for those in need.
The oxygen tanks use pressure and high oxygen levels to repair damaged tissue in the body which has incredible results. Having spent the morning over there, we got chatting with patients all of which claimed the treatment had changed their lives, especially Gill who has been partaking since 1983.
It soon became clear that there were a few vital pieces of equipment that your fundraising would go towards. For example, by donating £80 you could provide an oxygen mask for one of the 130,000 suffering with MS. More ambitiously, an ergonomic medical table which helps increase balance and strength costs £1600.
In simplified terms, Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that causes the immune system to attack the spinal cord and brain. In essence, it is like degrading the rubber around a wire which causes nervous signals to travel slower and often be disrupted.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, any donation will be greatly appreciated by the centre. Should you find yourself in Oxford on the 15th of October, it would lovely to see a friendly face as we cross the line!
