Story
Rachel & Kate both suffered injuries as a result of the bomb in Omagh, 1998. 25 years on, they are still living with the physical and psychological challenges this brings but also want to celebrate growth, healing and friendship in spite of adversity and, together, have decided to undertake the challenge of a Tandem Skydive! as a fundraiser for WAVE Trauma Centre (Kate may have to push Rachel out of the plane, but she’ll get there!).
WAVE offer care and support to anyone bereaved, injured or traumatised through the civil unrest in Northern Ireland, irrespective of religious, cultural or political belief. Clients can avail of a range of services including, Counselling and Complimentary Therapies; Health & Wellbeing; Outreach, Advocacy & Welfare services as well as a range of Peer Support groups.
Over the years, Rachel & Kate have found WAVE to be an invaluable service and they continue to access a variety of supports when required. To acknowledge this, on 4th August 2023, the girls will take on the experience of a life-time and Skydive 15,000 ft. All donations are gratefully received and proceeds will help fund the continued work of WAVE Trauma Centre.
