My London Marathon for Cornwall Hospice Care

Remember me? Hardly a runner, but I took on the gruelling half marathon Run Falmouth this year (2024) in memory of my friend and former colleague, Ann. She battled cancer and yet always had time for others and I wanted to show her and her lovely family my appreciation. Well I did it. It wasn't easy or pretty, but I was well inside the cut off time and with a lot of people's help, we raised enough to fund an entire ward shift at each of our two Cornish hospices.
I was filming with one of our nurses a while back and she told a story of how she made a day matter for one of our patients and it got me thinking...I then watched the London Marathon and yes, you've guessed it, I applied for one of the charity's Gold Bond Places. Last Friday (12th July) I got a call to confirm I'd been selected. I experienced every reaction in a one minute period; shock, fear, excitement, terror.
So, I'm taking on the iconic London Marathon on 27th April 2025 with an aim, a very grand aim, to raise enough to fund a whole weekend of hospice care at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice and St Julia's Hospice. It'll be the 45th anniversary of the opening of Mount Edgcumbe, Cornwall's first ever hospice so I'll also be doing this for our founder Enid Dalton-White who lived in Polruan where I grew up.
Your donation will count so thank you and let's do Cornwall Hospice Care and all those who's lives they touch, proud!
