You may be aware that while out on a photo walk last October at the Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower Peninsula, Anthony suffered a cardiac arrest. The prompt actions of his great friend Glyn, a heroic passer by, an off duty consultant and the village community initially saved his life, augmented and supported by the First Responder, who sped from Swansea to the scene.
Three Cliffs Bay is not the easiest place to get to in an emergency, so I will be forever grateful for the incredible and vital response of Air Ambulance Wales. The crew were able to stabilise him and transfer him to Morriston Hospital Swansea within minutes! Once at the hospital he had an emergency operation and recieved excellent treatment both at Morriston and the Heath hospital in Cardiff. Thankfully Anthony has now fully recovered.
We had the honour and privilege to visit the Wales Air Ambulance base in Dafen, West Wales. Like me, you may be surprised to learn the Air Ambulance Wales relies on charitable donations to be able to function.
This is why, for my upcoming birthday, I have asked my family and friends, instead of cards, flowers and presents to make a donation to Air Ambulance Wales via my Just Giving page. If you too would like to make a small donation to help reach my target, I would be really grateful.
Thank you in anticipation ❤️
The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
Your donations will help keep this vital service in Wales.
