Established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors, FIDF is a non-political, non-military organization that works closely with the IDF to provide for the wellbeing of its soldiers. FIDF is the sole official organization authorized to collect charitable donations on behalf of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces across the United States and Panama as designated by Lt.

FIDF's programs address the educational, financial, and emotional needs of Israel's soldiers, fundamentally changing their lives and providing them with opportunities ahead. In 2022, FIDF touched the lives of over 105,000 soldiers, veterans and their family members.
