Story
The Sycal team are undertaking a mountain climb up Scafell Pike to raise money for Macmillian Cancer Support. With none of us having climbed Scafell Pike this will be a difficult challenge, but something we all feel worthwhile doing to help raise money and show support for all the people suffering from cancer getting help from Macmillian.
Walking up the highest mountain in England, at 3,209 ft, over 6 miles of rough uneven terrain, with possible snow and minus temperatures is going to be a difficult task for the Sycal team but something we're going to give our all and reach the summit for this great cause.
The reason the Sycal team are undertaking this charity climb for Macmillian is because they are currently helping support Adam a member of the team's family with the recent news of his sister, Charlotte Davidson, being diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year. She is currently undergoing chemo with a long journey ahead but the help and support given by Macmillian, it is making the journey a little bit easier.
Adam's sister at the age of 35, is showing great strength and determination in beating this terrible disease. As a family, they are all standing by her side supporting her, but Macmillian takes this even further with their knowledge, understanding, and ongoing aid they are giving Adam's sister, her husband, two young children and the whole family.
Cancer is a terrible disease but luckily a higher than ever chance to recover from. The journey to recovery is still a difficult one though for sufferers and their families and to live through this pain and uncertainty from a personal point of view is awful. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
Thank you for supporting our fundraising and this great cause.
