Story

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.

Every £10 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives, thank you.

Swansea University is proud to support PAPYRUS and the invaluable work it does in our community by hosting our 6th HOPEWALK.

HOPEWALKS take place across the UK throughout October to get the conversation started around suicide. Our aim at Swansea University is to raise awareness, raise money for PAPYRUS and reduce the stigma around talking about suicide.

Please join us on our annual 3 mile circular beach walk-remember to wear suitable footwear and dress appropriately as we aim to walk in all weathers on the beach or the path that runs along the beach.

Event: Sunday 13th October @ 10am

Start/finish @ The Secret Beach Bar and Kitchen (SA2 0AY) walking up to Blackpill and back. Parking is available opposite in the Recreation Ground car park (SA2 0AU) and there is a bus stop right outside
