This year our band of Swan Samba Drummers are entering a team in the Dragon Boat Race on 7th September in Southampton.

Our 16 novice rowers (Dawn, Kath, Amanda, Paul, Alison, Iwan, Caroline, James, Julie, Helen, Shelley, Julie, Charlotte, Simon, Derek, Kerry), will be laying down their drumsticks and hopefully keeping their paddles moving in time with our solo drummer (Carol) to raise awareness and cash in support of Abby's Heroes.

This wonderful charity help and support children and their families, including bereaved families, who have been diagnosed with cancer. They offer financial and practical help as well as the opportunity to make lasting memories for the children and their families. Our band Swan Samba have close links with Abby's Heroes as Abby herself was a dancer and a member of Roynon Dance. Furthermore one of our band members, Zac was ward mates with Abby whilst they were both treated for cancer in Southampton General Hospital.
