Story
It’s that time of the year again that the HR, Facilities and Occupational Health team (HOF Team) are stepping out on the Big March to raise funds on behalf of CRASH, the Construction Industry’s charity aimed at supporting Homeless and Hospices. The HOF team during the month of March are dedicating time to take 10,000 steps per day, or 310,000 steps in the month and have opened a JustGiving page to help fundraise for such a worthwhile cause.
David McGarry – People and Organisation Director acts on behalf of the Company as a Trustee of CRASH said “CRASH is a wonderful charity and leverages Patrons from across the Construction Industry, to support projects that help care for people and families when they are at their most vulnerable. British Gypsum is one of the founding patrons and as an organisation and over the years we have carried out fundraising activities, donated product and participated in events, to help support, which is so aligned to our purpose of “Making the World a Better Home”. In fact British Gypsum was Corporate Patron of the Month in January 2024 supporting the work that CRASH did on two Projects.
This is becoming an annual event for the HOF team who have been dedicating some time to getting fitter and healthier. Getting out and about in springtime is a great opportunity to witness life beginning to stir and enjoy the changing of the season.
Get outdoors and be active walking is a great way to catch up with a colleague, take a moment for yourself or get some fresh air with your four-legged friend. All you need to do is get walking and complete 10,000 steps every day between 1st - 31st March. How you reach your 310,000-step goal is up to you; you may prefer little and often strolls; a long weekend hike or try creative ways to get your steps in, like dancing around the kitchen!
